I like the look of this block with all the triangles, but I'd rather sew a Bear's Paw block - same configuration of little triangles around the outside, but you are spared the four seam traffic jams.
I used the solid lmedium periwinkle around the center and figure I can quilt something interesting and distracting there.

The viewer does not see any seam jams. Instead she sees a successful and balanced block with a very pretty center.
I've never thought of them as seam traffic jams but that's a perfect description!
I think this is just lovely...and I, too, like the seam traffic jam description. I will think of that when I get around to making this one!
I think it is a very effective and interesting block with that perfectly centered rose... But you don't seem to have your usual enthusiasm about this Austen collection.
