As Barbara Brackman pointed out, this is often known as the Sawtooth Star, and it happened that that's what's already up on my design wall. I'm making a Fire-Engine themed quilt for Norris' great-nephew Kason. His blocks are 12 inches finished compared to the 8 inches of these blocks.

Delighted to be able to follow your new blog Cheryl. I cannot believe you have sewed your second block so quickly!!! I loved looking at the other blocks (for Kason) and I hope he likes the quilt when he receives it.
Btw, I will continue to read about the snow - cats - trees etc on the other blog. I so love looking at the scenery around your home.
Snap! I just posted my block(s) also. I knew you would have this one done quicksmart.
I adore your center fabric Cheryl!! I am enjoying fire engine fabric too. Is that part of a collection of fire trucks or do you have them in a stash of fire trucks
